  • Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early for class to settle in on your mat and prepare for practice.
  • Practice on an empty stomach - try not to eat 2-3 hours before practice.  Drink plenty of water before and after practice.
  • Bring a yoga mat, large towel and water.
  • Check with your doctor before starting any exercise program and inform your instructor of any injuries, past or present, you may have.
  • Check class descriptions to see which class would be best suited for you.

Beginner (≈ 80)
This class will teach you the fundamentals you need to begin a yoga practice from breath to connecting movement with breath.  There will be modifications for different levels so that everyone can move at their own pace.

Studio Flow (80- 85)
For beginners and experienced practitioners who want to move through a flow format at a slower pace.  Explore the foundations of the Sun Salutations and modify up or down in a variety of poses.  A fun and explorative practice.  A nice way to introduce your mind and body to the Power Yoga practice.  In this class you will have poses introduced and broken down to ensure proper alignment. Poses will be held longer, allowing students to build more strength in key muscle groups.  Special focus is placed on the "core" muscles used to support you in your yoga practice.  Excellent preparation for the faster paced Power Yoga class.  Recommended for all students.

Introduction to Ashtanga (80)
This class will start with traditional sun salutations and then break down the primary series of Ashtanga yoga, practicing various standing and floor asana each week.  Closing sequence will be included in each class.  A great class for all levels.  For more information on Ashtanga yoga and K. Pattabhi Jois go to http://ashtanga.com/html/background.html to learn about this traditional yoga practice and the founder to the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute.

Power (90- 95)
A faster paced flow class practiced in a heated room.  A serious workout for the entire body and an excellent way to release the tensions from your day.  Exploration of more backbends, standing balances, hip openers and arm balances to keep class dynamic, challenging and fun.
